Why use Vespernote's note templates?
16 layouts for everyday notes
Meeting notes, lecture notes, study notes, daily journal, daily standup, weekly review, project plan, to-do list, travel packing list and more. Each has its own fields in a fixed order.
Fields that fit the note
A meeting note has a date, attendees to tick off, an agenda and an action items table with owner and due date. A recipe has servings and an ingredients table. Fields are checked when you save.
A free-writing area in every template
Whatever the fields leave out goes in the notes area. It takes Markdown, so you can add headings, lists, bold text and tables.
Start a note from a template
On the web, press New note and the template picker opens. Choose a layout, or pick Start blank. The mobile app has a template picker of its own.

Tips for better notes from a template
Fill the header before the meeting
Add the date, attendees and agenda first. During the meeting you only write decisions and action items.
Give every action item an owner and a due date
The meeting template's table has Owner and Due columns. A task with neither is easy to lose.
Keep the facts in fields and the reasoning in the notes area
Fields make a note easy to scan. The notes area is for why a decision was made.
Write key terms as they come up
Study notes has a key terms table. One row per term is quicker than rewriting the lecture afterwards.
Use the review fields the same day
Lecture notes has a questions to review list and a homework checklist. Fill them while the lecture is fresh.
Leave fields you don't need empty
Most templates only require the notes area. Meeting notes and daily standup also need a date. Empty fields show a dash.
Go beyond note templates: AI summary
Paste a filled meeting note and get a short summary with the action items listed next to it.
